Right then people, brace yourselves! This blog is going to be dragged kicking and screaming into the realm of sleek beautiful and articulate blogs if it kills me!

I am armed with tutorials aimed at turning blogger blogs into works of art, so please bear with me while I fight with html code!

I will hopefully be back soon and in the meantime if anyone has any expertise in this area I would be grateful for all the help I can get!

I am so excited to have over 2000 lovely subscribers now! Thank you all so much for your loyalty and support, it means so much to me :)

Of course you know this means that a contest is on the cards! I'm in the process of putting prizes together for it.

I will have the usual comment contest, but as well as that I want to do something a bit more interactive, so am trying to decide on whether to have a make-up tutorial contest of some kind or something completely different.

I will announce prizes as soon as I've decided what to do, and will also be posting a video.

I'm also in the process of compiling names for a share the love video, so if you know of an up and coming channel that deserves a mention then let me know :)

Oh my goodness has it really been that long since I last posted :/

I keep picking up this blog then putting it back down again, I think I just have so much going on that sometimes it's a struggle to keep up with it all.

Thank you to all of you who are still following me, I will go through phases where I post on here I promise guys!

Blog Sale Coming Up!!

My New Art Project...

So some of you know that I do Graphic Design, for example I made the lipstick writing my name that appears in my videos intro.

I also do digital portraits, basically I start with a blank document and create it from scratch, it takes around 12-14 hours to do each one but I love doing it.

I have decided to start a project creating digital portraits of some of the Gurus that I really like and admire, I'm not doing them in any particular order, I'm just seeing who is inspiring me at that moment and going for it =)

The first one is now completed, and it's DulceCandy87, here it is (you can click on it to enlarge):

I hope you like it! I am working on the second one already and I already know who the next 3 are going to be. I don't know how many I will do in total, I guess I'll keep going until I don't want to do it any more.

Do you think this would make a good prize for a contest? For me to do a portrait of the winner (or their pet/child)? Maybe as a first prize and then make-up for other prizes (as it takes so many hours to do). Please let me know what you think!

Major Haulage!

My MAC haul should be arriving today! Graphic Garden, Love That Look, Baby Bloom and Euristocrats 2! V excited! Yay!

I also have hauls from The Body Shop, Soap and Glory and a collective haul to record but don't want to inundate you with haul vids, so I might not bother with those.

I might just post pics/swatches here, haven't decided yet, my priority at the moment are tutorials as I haven't done one for a little while.

My new camera is fantastic and I really wanted to record some vids last night but in the end it just got too late and I was so tired. I hope to be able to do them tonight!

New Video Set-Up

I'm really not happy with where I have been sitting to film my videos, the lighting is terrible! Plus it's my dining table downstairs so every time I want to do a tutorial or whatever, I have to move everything down here.

Ideally I want to be able to sit at my dressing table (vanity) and have everything to hand, this will really encourage me to record a lot more make-up tutorials...yay!

However the lighting in my bedroom is even worse than downstairs, so I challenged my hubby to sort it all out for me (love you baby!). He has ordered me a new camera, tripod and a daylight lamp and he's going to set it all up on my dressing table for me. At the moment I am using the family camera so I can't keep it set up as we use it to take photos/film of our daughter etc.

It all arrives on Tuesday so I'm sooooo excited! I'm finally going to be able to just switch on the lamp, camera and go! I won't have to set everything up each time I want to record a vid.

I had to share as I'm so pleased, plus the camera is HD which means better quality vids for all my lovely subscribers!

Sorry that I've neglected this blog for a little while, life has been busy, busy, busy!!!

My Nail Polish Collection...

I have recorded a video overview of my OPI nail polish collection, and also a few other favourites as it was a request by one of my lovely subscribers.

I'm debating whether to upload the video or not as it's quite long and boring! So for now I thought I'd post some swatches of my favourite nail polishes. Most are OPI but there are some others in there too. I will probably upload the video as someone might find it interesting but for those of you who don't feel like sitting through endless nail polish descriptions, here are some pics.

There is one missing which is really nice, it's called Bubble Bath by OPI and I love it but it's on loan to a friend. I'm pretty sure I took some pics of it on my nails a while back and never posted it so I will try and find it...if I do then I'll put it up for you as it's such a pretty pink shade.

I also got a MAC shadow - Omega which I have wanted for a while. It's a completely matte beige/taupe which is perfect for an easy neutral eye when you just want a little definition:

I used both products in the video, and this was the finished look...very neutral but remember that this look was achieved in around 5 minutes, including foundation etc!

An update on my hauls...

Ok so a lot of you have been asking how I am getting on with my Lush and HK products so here is an update =)

LUSH:

The Emotibombs are really good but they don't last very long! I tried using just a small piece to begin with and that was nice, I got a few minutes of lovely vapours which were really relaxing. However as it only lasted a few minutes the next time I had a shower I put a whole one in (minus the small piece that I had already removed), and the vapours were a lot stronger which was fantastic. However it lasted the same amount of time! (4-5 minutes).

They are not expensive and so I would probably get them again and use a whole one each time as that way you get lots of gorgeous vapours but maybe do it once a week? I also plan to just stand under the warm water and enjoy the Emotibomb before beginning to wash my hair etc. If you use other products it kind of masks it. So I recommend enjoying it on it's own kind of like a spa experience or even putting it in before the end of your shower to relax you before you get out.

The Whoosh Shower Jelly is amazing! I love it and it will be a regular in my shower routine =) I have found that I can get the best lather by tearing off a small piece (about the size of a hazelnut) and rubbing it into my loofah/scrunchie first. That gives me enough to wash my entire body, and this way I can see my piece lasting for at least a month if not longer. The scent is really strong on this one and lasts well.

This Smoothie I didn't like =( I decided that the scent just wasn't doing it for me so I gave it to my sister. The formulation is nice but it didn't smell of much and so I won't be getting this one again.

The Enzymion moisturiser/Face Mask I have had before and love!

Estee Lauder White Beige nail polish...

HOW gorgeous is this nail polish???

This one was recommended in Glamour magazine as being the shade that celebs are wearing. I bought it because I didn't have a shade like it in my collection and then forgot about it for a bit.

My On The Prowl manicure chipped (nail polish never lasts long on my natural nails as they are so soft that it cracks at the edges) so I was looking through my nail polish collection for something I hadn't worn before.

I am really loving it! I have to say that the formulation isn't fantastic, you definitely need two if not three coats, but the colour more than makes up for that. I also adore the bottle, it looks like the polish has been trapped inside an ice cube =)

I can't remember how much I paid for this but it is on the pricey side, that much I know! Great for the office =)

Hello Kitty Haul!

I was sooo excited to receive my Hello Kitty goodies =) I received an invite to attend the preview at a MAC store in London but I decided not to go, instead I accepted their invite only online preview! I was able to order on Thursday 26th Feb and of course I chose next day delivery =)

By the way, the reason that I didn't get either of the palettes is that they were around £30 each and I didn't want them that badly!

So here are my goodies...first of all the gorgeous Soft Vanity Case (£44.04)

I love the fact that it has the clear flap to protect your brushes! It's the perfect size for going away for the weekend too (hint, hint Hubby!) =)

Ok, next is the Makeup Bag (£25.45) which is a perfect size for my handbag...I do have quite a large handbag! I am considering getting the smallest Makeup Bag but it is really tiny apparently, maybe just the right size for a lipstick and a small mirror but not much else...would be great to put in smaller handbags though. I can't remember how much it is and no longer have access to the HK part of the website so I will have to wait until it's officially launched and then see how much it is. Anyway, here are the pics:

Ok, on to the products themselves!

Glitter Eye Liner in Her Glitz (£12.72):

The swatch really doesn't do it justice, it has a really fine glitter and is really wearable, not just for evening. It's a really pretty brown colour, I haven't actually worn it yet though but I'll keep you posted on how I like it etc.

Lipstick in Fresh Brew (£11.26):

This is one of my all time favourite lipsticks...I am seriously considering getting a back-up! It's a gorgeous neutral shade and it doesn't dry my lips out. It's soooo me!

Lipglass in Mimmy (£10.28):

I like this Lipglass but to be honest it's nothing amazing, I like it just as much as my other MAC Lipglasses but it doesn't stand out. Still, I love the packaging and will probably carry it around in my handbag.

The Tinted Lip Conditioner in Pink Fish (£10.28):

I actually bought two of these because so many people had raved about it and I'm glad that I did...to me the best thing about Pink Fish is how well it conditions my lips. The colour is really stong but as it's a delicate pink it isn't too much. It also has quite a sweet taste to it if you accidentally lick some off your lips, yummy =) I don't this it is as utterly amazing as some people have said but it's still nice enough to make me happy that I bought a back-up!

Nail Lacquer in On The Prowl (£7.83):

I really love this colour, I never thought that I would like grey on my nails but it's quite glossy and with my great Seche glossy top coat it looked even more fab! I have removed my acrylic nails for now as I was finding it hard to find the time to keep them maintained, but I will probably re-do them in a month or two. So as my natural nails needed some TLC I added some strengthening treats and then this lacquer. That last photo is of a swatch I painted onto a piece of white card, it is so glossy that you can see the camera lens reflected in it lol...it's not quite as glossy as this when it dries though.

Pigment in Deep Blue Green (£14.68):

This is such a rich, gorgeous coloured pigment. It looks amazing if you apply it to your lower eyelid wet, then smudge it out to create a smokey look. It's quite messy as it's so dark and highly pigmented so you do need to go steady with it but the final effect is well worth it. The swatch doesn't do it justice, I couldn't get the lighting right so I apologise but the photo of the product itself is pretty accurate.

Beauty Powder Blush in Tippy (£14.68):

This one really needs a light hand as it is so pigmented, but if you get it right it's sooo pretty. I applied it lightly with my 134 brush and really buffed it in...gorgeous! Like the merest hint of hot pink.

So that's my HK haul! Wooo! I'm really looking forward to seeing what everyone else gets and what you all think of it.

LUSH haul...pics etc

So I posted a haul video for my Lush order and promised photos so here they are, my fresh face mask also arrived so I have included photos of that.

First of all are the Emotibombs (£1.91) which sit in the bottom of your shower. When the warm water hits them they fizz slowly and release essential oil vapours which rise up with the steam of your shower. I've tried the one with the cat on it which is called Up the Wooden Hill and it is heaven! I used a really small piece because I want to make it last, it was about the size of a MAC eyeshadow pot. I didn't put it near the plug-hole, I sat it on the rubber mat that I stand on so that it wouldn't slip away and it stayed put. Next time I will use a bigger piece though as it only lasted for a few minutes. If you put the whole thing in there I bet it would be really amazing! They are quite cheap so I wouldn't mind doing that once a week or so.

Next is the Almond & Coconut Smoothie (£6.80), and to be honest I'm disappointed with the scent of this one. I love the formulation but the scent is too mild, I like strong scents that linger on my skin. With this one I feel that I can still smell the base formula and that the added scent doesn't add anything. I am going to give this to my sister if she likes it...it's a shame but that's why it's always best to go to the actual store if you can. Next time I will!

This one is the Whoosh Shower Jelly (£2.25) and what you can't see here is that it's kind of folded up inside the tub, so when I took it out it was twice as long! It has a really strong scent and I LOVE it! I am so pleased, I will definitely get more of these next time. I like the look of the one called The Big Calm. I did try taking the whole piece and lathering it up like they show on the Lush website but it was really difficult to keep hold of, it was really slippery and I was scared of dropping it. I ended up taking a small piece and lathering up a scrunchie/loofah thingy with it (as advised by makeupbytiffanyd. It worked really well!

I got the Enzymion moisturiser (£11.74 but check the price of each moisturiser because they vary wildly...some are upwards of £30!) which I have had before. It's great for oily skin and absorbs really nicely. I love it!

I then got one of my favourites...a butter cream! This one is called Lemslip (£2.30) and smells edible! It's so smooth and melts gorgeously on your skin. You use it in the shower to wash with and rub it on wet skin...heavenly! It leaves you soft and smelling gorgeous. This one kind of looks like a slice of cheesecake but some of the others look like huge wedges of cake complete with frosting!

And finally the one that I couldn't show you in my video because it hadn't arrived! My fresh face-mask! Brazened Honey (£6.31) which is so fresh that it only lasts for 3 weeks and has to be kept refrigerated as it has no preservitives in it. I never use mine all up so I will de-pot some of it for my sister.

Upcoming collections from MAC

Ok so who has been eyeing up the new MAC collections that are coming soon? Me me me! =)

The Kitty Kouture collection is doing nothing for me to be honest, the price tags are horrendous and although the compacts are cute I would never pay that much money for them!

So then we have the Sugar Sweet collection which does look promising, the Consume Me TriColour Gloss looks interesting, as does the Perfect Topping MSF. The Bubbles lipstick looks like something I would definitely wear.

Then there's the Rose Romance collection which has the most amazing rose sculpted beauty powders, but the product that has really grabbed my attention is the Just A Pinch Gel Blush.

My favourite neutral look...

I love this look! It's the one that I wear most of the time, if I'm not doing anything special or just need to get my make-up on quickly...it flatters my eye-shape and takes 5 minutes to do!

I do vary the eyeshadows that I use, I like to change it up and have different shades of brown etc, I own so many that I don't like to use the same one all the time =)

Sometimes I will go even more 'natural' than this with my make-up, instead of brown I will use taupe or beige and skip the eyeliner, but if I'm going to put make-up on then that's as bare as I will go. I do have the odd make-up free day but that only happens if I'm staying indoors =)

I am so behind on videos!

My request list is growing and I am not keeping up with it...eeek!

I haven't done a tutorial in a while and I really need to do some so I will try and get a few recorded this week.

I might even brave it and do the long awaited make-up collection/organisation video =)

I've also decided to not bother catching up with haul videos, I have too many to do and I don't want to post haul video after haul video because it will get boring for all of us. Instead I'm going to do a monthly video letting you all know what my favourite products are for that month.

I don't know whether anyone is actually reading this blog lol, I plan to make it a bit more interesting with lots more photos etc and really concentrate on it. At the moment I kind of post when I remember to!

Ruby Slippers...

Ok so my regular watchers will know that I do my own acrylic nails...I ordered a glitter acrylic mix called Ruby Slippers (the acrylic is NSI) and OMG it is sooo cute!

I used that on the tips then went the whole way and did the rest in Like a Virgin which is a clear glitter mix. I'm loving them for Valentine's!!!

My growing MAC obsession!

Ok, so why is MAC so addictive? It seems that as soon as you try one of their products you want them all!

My brush collection is really growing now; some MAC, some Coastal Scents and lots of Crown brushes (they are so cheap but are nice brushes).

I also have a few random brushes that I've collected over the years...it's getting out of hand lol!

I've also discovered a love for MAC MSFs, CCBs and the Mineralized shadows/blushes. Oh, and the cream blushes lol, I am going to be broke at this rate =)

So the BBR (Brunette Blone Redhead), Creme Team and Well Defined collections hit the UK recently and I have ordered a couple of items but I'm saving my money for the Hello Kitty collection that arrives in March (in the UK).

I'll put photos up of what I've ordered from the above collections as soon as they arrive...so excited!

As posted in my mini-haul video, I have found some bargains!

The aviator sunglasses were £2.79 each with free shipping! I love them =) So glad I got them in silver and gold.

The 17 Eye Dazzles were £3.91 each but at Boots were on offer (3 for 2) so worked out much cheaper than that. They are amazing when used wet or dry, sorry the swatches aren't great =(

Spanish!

I decided to record a weight-loss video in Spanish as I have been receiving lots of messages from people who are Spanish speakers.

I hope that it proves to be popular, and if so then I will make it a regular feature of my weight-loss log.

I have ordered some exercise DVDs so I will do a haul on those when they arrive, some of them are very cheesy but I have no shame =))

Can't Access YouTube!

Better Quality Videos Coming Soon!

Hola!

Ok so I have been promising better videos for a while now, but we are almost there!

I have worked out how to film using my Canon Powershot which will be so much better than my Dell webcam that I am using at the moment.

The only problem is that filming on the Canon eats up batteries, and even th0ugh I use rechargables it's a problem. Therefore I have ordered a power cable for my camera so that I can run it off the mains.

I promise that I will record a video as soon as the cable arrives so that you can see how clear it is. Especially if you view in high quality. In fact I'm a little bit freaked out at just how clear the image is, I won't be able to hide even the tiniest blemish from you guys lol!

Oh well, at least you will be able to see my make-up tutorials more clearly which should help you guys so it's all good =)

MAC Trace Gold Blush...

So I made another haul video and it was over 15 minutes lol so I had to cut loads of items out of it and just kept the most interesting ones!

One of them was a Sheertone Shimmer Blush by MAC in Trace Gold, I was asked by one of my subscribers to describe it more closely, so I decided to post a swatch here, so this is for bengibabe88 and anyone else who is interested =)

I just want to say that I swatched it quite heavily, I don't think that anyone would actually wear it this thickly! I just wanted to get a good amount of product on the swatch, I have also swatched it far more delicately just above it on my hand but I don't think you can see it very clearly.

It's quite a subtle blush really and doesn't have huge glitter chunks. It is more of a warm caramel colour with just a hint of gold, like a shimmer.

Subscribers and Requests...

It's really nice to see my subscribers increasing =) I'm glad that people are enjoying my videos!

I have been asked to do a few requests so I will try and get them done sooner rather than later.

It seems that everyone is after dramatic/smokey/evening looks at the moment, which is great as they are so fun to do.

OMG I need to do another haul video as I just received some new items that I am sooo excited about...I will try and do that soon too!

I have limited time in which to record videos and can only do them in the evenings when my daughter is in bed or while she is napping during the day.

Oh, almost forgot...I tried recording a clip on a different camera and the quality is much better than the one I have been using so hopefully my videos are going to be much clearer from now on =)

I have been deliberating for a while about whether I want to create a separate channel for my new vlogs or just keep it all together.

I am in the process of losing weight, have already lost a couple of stone and am going strong so am going to start recording it all in regular vlogs.

Now I get that my make-up stuff subscribers won't necessarily be interested in my weight-loss story and vice versa, but I am going to keep it all on the same channel anyway.

Both subjects are a big part of my life and I think they are linked as it's all about self-esteem, beauty and feeling good!

But don't worry, if you aren't interested in following my weight-loss I'm going to put all videos related to that in a playlist and title them clearly so that if they bore you, you can just ignore them lol =)

So please look out for my weight-loss vlogs coming soon!

Ok so I de-potted my MAC shadows and filled up my new palette...yay!

So now I have lots of empty pots that I want to 'back to MAC'...I went onto the MAC website and found out that Debenhams in Oxford have a MAC counter!!

How the hell did this pass me by? I don't care, the important thing is that I can go there instead of all the way to MK.

Now I have to decide which lipstick I want next...I have sooo many nudes that I feel I should go in a different direction but I do love my nudes.

Right, I'm off to YT to watch lots of haul videos to get some inspiration, first stop has to be lollipop26 =)
